What Kobe Bryant Must Do to Prove Doubters Wrong

The Black Mamba must prove something before he will finally cement his legacy

Kobe Bryant has proven a lot since his early years with the Los Angeles Lakers. Each achievement has defined his successful career as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Even if he's part of one of the worst teams in the league today, he will always be remembered as the athlete who has led his team to win 5 NBA championships.  The athlete who, despite his old age, continued to work and play hard in order to keep his team competitive and triumphant as well. As Father Time is fast approaching, Kobe must act swiftly and prove to the whole world that he is not an obsolescent athlete. Fatigue and injuries must be avoided at all costs or else these factors will expose Kobe's flaws especially his ailing health. His defensive limitations might also be exposed as one of his greatest weaknesses due to his declining knees, which would definitely affect his lateral quickness and versatility. At age 35, some might assume that he's got nothing to prove anymore. Actually, I think he does have something to prove and I don't think most people will notice it. Kobe is known for being one of the best if the ball is in his hands. But what if it isn't? Does that mean that he's useless as a player? In order for him to be a more versatile player, he must have the urge to become a playmaker for his teammates. Having a high percentage of assists will just add to the list of the achievements he has had in his career. Therefore, he must show his willingness to adapt due to his declining health. Instead of being the main scorer for the team, he must become one of their facilitators and playmakers. If this happens, what is its effect on Kobe's teammates? More opportunities will be given to them especially to those who have a lot of potential, particularly Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson, Xavier Henry, and Jeremy Lin. If these young players live up to their respective potentials, then they will be the ones in charge to carry the Lakers to success in the post-Kobe era. With this achievement of molding younger players, Kobe can finally cement his legacy as one of the greatest players ever to play the game of basketball.
