| Derrick Rose has returned to play after 8 months of recovery from his injury |
To all the fans of the Chicago Bulls, this is what you've been waiting for. It may sound unbelievable, but former Most Valuable Player awardee Derrick Rose practiced extremely at Team USA's first practice in preparation for the 2014 FIBA World Cup. During Team USA's practice this morning, Rose showed some flashes of his true self, exhibiting nasty crossovers and converting his shots and dunks. His return has been highly anticipated due to his injuries that caused him to miss much of the last two seasons. Last season, he only played 10 games before suffering another gruesome injury by tearing his meniscus in his right knee. Below is a video that shows Rose's slam dunk and his opinion on what he felt after the practice.
Prior to joining Team USA's 19-man roster, Rose spent much of his summer rehabbing and working out in Chicago, his hometown. He would occasionally fly to Los Angeles to promote the D Rose 5, his 5th signature shoe with Adidas. Meanwhile, Team USA head coach Mike Krzyzewski praised Rose for his perseverance in practicing despite coming off two major injuries, his torn ACL(Anterior Cruciate Ligament) and his torn meniscus, both in his right knee. He was also impressed for his improvement in being a defensive and tenacious point guard.
