App Review: NBA 2K14

The most anticipated basketball game of the year, NBA 2K14 has lived up to the expectations of most basketball fanatics. Its developer, 2K Sports, has gotten complacent though when it comes to minor bug fixes such as the commentators, basketball arenas, and the fans watching, of course. As an avid fan of this 2K series, I realized that expecting major improvements from annual releases is useless. Yes, there are a lot to be excited about, especially the graphical improvements and the accuracy of each NBA teams' rosters. Another feature in this latest installment was the improved gameplay. Playing a simulation game seems realistic because the defenses of the opposing team is now tighter than ever. Surprisingly, 2K Sports has improved the player AI significantly. Players on the defensive end are now more alert especially in intercepting passes and blocking shots, causing turnovers on the gamer's part. This type of high-level play is one of the major features of this game since it did not exist in previous installments of the NBA 2K series. If I were to rate this game, I'd give it an 8.5 since there weren't that much differences from its predecessor, NBA 2K13. But overall, it's a fun and exciting game that will keep you hooked up for hours!
